Following several complaints from students across tertiary institutions in the state about disenfranchisement, because CVR days are on weekdays and during working hours only which coincides with peak lectures and test periods. The VEP department organized a Campus outreach at the Mohammed Goni College of Legal and Islamic Studies which had students, Students Union Government (SUG)officials and Students Relations Officers (SRO)from all tertiary institutions in the state.
The VEDO, Borno State gave the students good news that rotation of IVEDs had started and registration centers would be coming closer to them.
The best news however, was the step by step online procedure that doesn’t require them to join long queues at INEC offices or registration centers.
Customized fliers on step-by-step processes of online pre-registration for freshets who just turned 18, PVC replacement for those who lost their cards especially due to the September 2024 floods and Transfers for those who have relocated were distributed during the campus outreach. They promised to be INEC ambassadors in their various neighborhoods with the new knowledge they’ve gained.
