Despite widespread applause for the recent Ekiti State governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is working hard to make the upcoming Osun State governorship election better, the Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, has said.

In a governorship election noted for its calmness and transparency, Mr. Ayodele Peter Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), last Saturday, defeated the incumbent Ekiti state governor, Dr. John Olukayode Fayemi.

The Ekiti governorship election conducted last Saturday and adjudged as the best carried out by the Commission so far, is a good omen for subsequent elections to come and which would satisfy the aspiration of Nigerians for a consolidated democracy.

Determined to make the Ekiti governorship election one of the best, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deployed a total of 8,433 staff to conduct the election.
