> Development Partners - UN JDBF Development Partners - UN JDBF The Joint Donor Basket Fund (JDBF) has been put in place to support the 2007 general Elections in Nigeria. The basket Fund will develop, fund and implement projects under a two-pronged strategy that will help strengthen the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) technical and operational capacity to prepare and conduct the 2007 general elections. The project will also undertake projects which will enhance civil society’s contribution to the electoral process to maximise public confidence in the outcome. Through specific operative mechanisms, citizen participation in the elections will be promoted and civil society engagement in electoral observation will be supported. Projects to be undertaken by the Fund would be managed through the Project Monitoring Unit (PMU).
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the project is to achieve transparent and credible elections that are domestically and internationally recognised. |
