  1. Who is eligible to vote?
    Persons whose names appear on the register of voters are eligible to vote.


  2. Where do eligible Voters go to vote?
    All eligible Voters should go to where they registered.



  3. Where do voters who registered during the make-up registration go to vote?
    Upon confirmation of registration at the nearest display centre during claims and objections, voters must go to the same place as where they registered to vote.



  4. Can unregistered Nigerian citizens above 18 years of age vote?
    The current laws governing general elections, do not permit any unregistered person to vote.


  5. Are any person(s) permitted to use the Voters card of a deceased parent or any other person?
    No person is permitted by law to use the voters card of any other individual as this amounts to impersonation. Such person shall be handed over to the Police and liable on conviction to a fine of N100,000 or 12 months imprisonment or both.



  6. What times are voting expected to start and end?
    Voting shall take place on the day appointed for each election between the hours of 8.00 am and 6:00pm throughout the Federation.



  7. Will the ballot papers provided for election contain all the party symbols?
    Yes, The ballot papers will contain the symbols of all registered political parties in alphabetical order.



  8. Considering the large number of registered political parties, what measures has the Commission taken to enhance recognition of party symbols on the ballot papers?
    It is primarily the responsibility of registered political parties to promote Voter education with regards party symbols. However, the Commission has taken measures to ensure that all party symbols are distinctly different. A poster containing the symbols has been printed and copied widely circulated.



  9. Is it important to check the list displayed during 'Claims and Objections'?
    This is one of the most important segments in the registration process. It is currently the only opportunity to ascertain your name is on the register and place any claim(s) or objection(s). i.e that names are correctly spelt, eliminate name of dead persons etc.
