Farukanmi Olorunnimbe
Senator Farukanmi Olorunnimbe was born on August 29th, 1941. He attended Abeokuta Grammar School, Abeokuta for Secondary Education. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) Geography (1966), Masters of Science Town and Country Planning U.K.(1970), Diploma in Town and Country Planning U.K. (1971) . He is a member of Royal Panning Institute, U.K, Member of Nigeria Institute of Town Planners , Member Nigerian Farmers Union, Ondo State Branch, Member of Poultry Association of Nigeria, Ondo Chapter, member Timber Trade Organization, Ondo State. Community activities include; Member St. Stephen’s Anglican church, Iju building committee, 1990-1999; Chairman of Elu-Iju Community Bank, 1994-1998; Board member of C.A.C Secondary Grammer School, Iju.
He was formally a Class Teacher and Games Master, Iju/Itagbolu Grammer School, January 1962 – September 1963; Senior Teacher and Games Master, Iju/Itagbolu Grammer School, 1966-1969; Ministary of Lands and Housing, Western State, Ibadan, 1971-1972; Senior Town Planning Officer in-charge of Abeokuta Zone 1973-1976; Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Egbado Area Planning Authority, 1973-1976; Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Ijebu-Remo Area Planning Authority, 1973-1976; Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Ijebu Area Planning Authority, 1973-1976;
Visiting Lecturer, Department of Town Planning, Ibadan Polytechnic, 1973-1975; Deputy Chief Town and Country Planning Officer, Ondo State, 1976. His Publications include, Timber Resources of Akure District, 1966; Rural Planning and Land Tenure- University of Aston, Birmingham, 1971; Urban Transportation problems in Nigeria (NISER), 1972; Planning and People (M.L.H.), 1973; The problems of the Rural Populace (M.L.H.) 1973. He is the Chairman of Elejoka Nigeria Limited.
